Telephone Ring
Telephone Ring
First released on Vinyl in 1981, 'Telephone Ring' was Alan's first and only solo album of the 20th century. Recorded during the period that followed the Rubettes early success in the 70's and a time that was thought to have been at the end of the Rubettes career. Alan had recorded and released his first solo single 'Doing things with you' establishing him as a solo artist in Europe with many T.V. and Radio appearances. His second single 'Telephone Ring' soon followed along with this album of the same name. In addition to the tracks on the vinyl album are four bonus tracks. 'Gimme Some Lovin' a totally 'off the wall' version of the 60's classic from the Spencer Davis Group with B side 'This Love of Mine' and 'Colours of the Rainbow' released in 1968 by his group the 'Medium'. Being the first song Alan ever wrote and his first professional record release it heralded the start of a long and successful career. The 'B' side 'Edward never Lies' co written by Alan would later provide a cult following and become a collectors item.
